Senior Compliance Manager

At Paynetics, we believe payments should be everywhere and effortless. As a European leader in Embedded Finance, our mission is to empower non-financial players to offer modern payment experiences that connect people and businesses across borders.

We collaborate with technology giants, banks, telecoms, governments, and fintech startups in more than 20 countries throughout Europe and the UK. Our end-to-end suite of financial products – from issuing, acquiring, accounts, digital wallets and card programs – makes us one of the most versatile players in the industry.

Over the years, our team has led landmark deals and strategic acquisitions that helped redefine what’s possible in the world of payments. Today, we serve 100,000+ clients, handle 200,000+ daily transactions, and continue to grow rapidly.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to primarily support our UK regulated business. This is a broad, hands-on second-line compliance role covering FCA regulatory compliance, partner and third-party oversight, outsourcing, regulatory change, regulatory reporting, new product governance, Consumer Duty, compliance monitoring and financial crime support.

The role would particularly suit someone who has worked in a generalist compliance role within a payments or e-money firm operating through agents, distributors or programme partners, or within a regulated payments business with a significant degree of outsourcing or reliance on third-party providers.

We are looking for someone who is practical and solutions-focused. Strong technical knowledge is important, but this is not a role for someone who simply reads regulation and restates it. We need someone who can understand what a regulatory requirement means in practice, translate it into workable controls, processes and business requirements, and help ensure those requirements are embedded.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Paynetics Chief Risk & Compliance Officer and collaborate with colleagues across the wider Paynetics Group.

What you’ll Be Doing

  • Support the ongoing development and operation of the Paynetics Compliance Framework.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and lead/support the practical implementation of new UK regulatory requirements.
  • Support FCA regulatory reporting, notifications, governance and Board reporting.
  • Provide second-line compliance input and sign-off for new products, services, partners and material business changes.
  • Support oversight of distributors, programme partners, outsourced providers and intragroup arrangements, including MI, risk assessments, thematic reviews and remediation.
  • Deliver compliance monitoring and assurance, support Consumer Duty and complaints/FOS oversight, and provide support to the MLRO on financial crime matters including SARs, AML/CTF, sanctions and transaction monitoring.

Our Requirements and Skillset

  • Relevant compliance experience within payments, e-money or a closely related regulated payments environment, with strong practical knowledge of the UK FCA framework.
  • Experience in a broad/generalist compliance role, ideally involving distributors, agents, programme partners, outsourcing or third-party oversight.
  • Strong track record of translating regulatory requirements into practical controls, processes and operational solutions, including regulatory change, reporting and new product compliance review.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and provide constructive challenge.

We offer

  • Exciting job in a premium professional environment
  • Broad exposure across UK payments regulation, partner oversight, outsourcing and financial crime
  • Opportunity to work closely with senior management and influence compliance best practice across the wider Group
  • Highly competitive remuneration
  • 25 days annual paid leave + 1 day for your birthday
  • Additional Health Insurance
  • Vouchers
  • Company Trainings
  • Team buildings and sports activities
  • Hybrid model of work & excellent office location near a metro station
