Product Owner

Paynetics is a leading fintech company, founder of the Bulgarian Fintech Association. Grounded in payment services, with offices in Bulgaria and the UK, we have built a team of passionate and enthusiastic professionals, on a mission to change the world of payments.

We have launched the first mobile payment app in Bulgaria, the first utilities payment app in the UK, one of the fist automated loyalty solutions in the US and a game changing payment acceptance solution with patent pending.

We are expanding our teams and are looking for an Experienced Product Owner. In this role you:

  • will play a key role in bridging business goals with technology delivery
  • will define and prioritize product features, ensure alignment with strategic objectives, and guide cross-functional teams through the delivery lifecycle
  • will help shape solutions that empower our clients and strengthen Paynetics’ position in the FinTech industry

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Own the product backlog: define, refine, and prioritize features to maximize value delivery in alignment with business strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to capture business needs and translate them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with the Product Management team to define the product vision, roadmap, and release goals.
  • Ensure proposed solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with Paynetics’ technical capabilities and regulatory requirements.
  • Break down complex initiatives into Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) and iterative development stages.
  • Conduct gap analysis of current versus future processes, ensuring new solutions bridge identified needs.
  • Work hand-in-hand with development, QA, and design teams throughout sprints, clarifying requirements and validating deliverables.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within the development team, ensuring an exceptional end-user experience.
  • Monitor delivery progress and support stakeholders in preparing for go-live, adoption, and scaling.

Our Requirements & Skillset:

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or in a similar product-focused role (at least 3 years).
  • Strong skills in requirements gathering, backlog management, and translating business objectives into actionable specifications.
  • Solid understanding of agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Good knowledge of process management and ability to align solutions with business workflows.
  • Basic understanding of IT architecture and integrations in financial services.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both written and verbal.
  • Practical experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Confident use of MS Office suite.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in the financial services industry will be considered a strong advantage.
