We are looking for our accounting team a highly skilled Financial Data Expert (with SQL) to manage, analyze, and optimize financial data across our core and back-office systems. In this role, you will design and refine SQL queries, ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial datasets, and support key reporting and reconciliation processes. You will work closely with finance, data, and IT teams to enhance data quality, streamline data flows, and provide actionable insights that support critical business decisions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures to support financial data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across multiple financial systems and data sources.
- Validate, reconcile, and investigate financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve data quality issues.
- Deliver accurate, timely datasets that support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting cycles.
- Partner with finance, data, and IT teams to enhance data models, streamline workflows, and improve system integrations.
- Document data processes, business logic, and data mappings to ensure transparency, scalability, and audit readiness.
- Monitor and maintain data pipelines, proactively addressing performance bottlenecks or quality concerns.
- Create, escalate, and manage tickets related to financial data issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
Our Requirements & Skillset:
- University degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong SQL expertise, including query optimization and handling large datasets.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting operations or financial data management
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work with large data volumes
- Familiarity with ETL processes, data warehousing, or reporting tools is an asset.
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- Very good English – both speaking and writing
